Did you know why both Do-follow Links and No Follow Links are good for
your Websites? The answer to this question is very simple, both kind of links
are good for driving traffic. It does not matter what kind of link you normally
prefer because both links can send you traffic. As we all know, traffic is one
of the main factors to become successful online. A website without traffic is
like having a store in the mall without visitors.
“do-follow” is a plain HTML link that indicates search-engine spiders to
crawl your link. Whereas, No-follow attribute tells search engines that the link
must be ignored. To make a link No-follow there are 2 ways – Firstly, you can
make No-follow from anchor tags and secondly, it could be done directly from robots
tag and file also.
Example - Do-follow link
<a href="http://example.com">Your Anchor Text</a>
Example - No-follow link
<a href="http://www.example.com"
rel="no-follow">Your Anchor Text</a>
Having your link No-follow will be treated in following ways –
- Spiders will not follow the link
- Users may still click and follow the link
- Page Rank is not transferred
- Anchor text is not transferred to your link profile
